preparing for full-life health and the implications of living longer
In order for increased lifespan to translate into increased fulfillment, physical fitness and mental sharpness must be considered key factors in longevity. The health challenges of old age are often thought of in terms of medical treatments and the ailments of late life, but in fact, ensuring lifelong health begins in youth. Protecting against physical and cognitive decline starts with early access to adequate health care and health care planning tools, along with lifelong commitments to engagement and physical mobility. Research shows that expanding awareness of best practices and ensuring adequate access to health resources throughout life has a strong correlative effect on lifelong health. How can communities support the creation of knowledge and the expansion of health services to ensure resilient longevity?
