Ageism & Women: A Webinar
October 8, 2024
Ageism impacts women across the life course, but it particularly harms women in midlife and late life.
Gendered ageism undermines women in the workplace, health care, and everyday life. All this contributes to economic insecurity and poorer health for women, especially in later life. Tackling gendered ageism is crucial to truly addressing economic, social, and health inequalities in an aging society.
On October 8th, we held the second webinar in our series on ageism, where we explored the intersection of ageism and women's experiences in today’s society, and discussed the challenges faced by women as they age, including societal biases, workplace dynamics, and the impact on mental health.
